I really wish I hadn't just Googled "Dominion Dating," that's Gilead-level upsetting! This piece reminded me of many things from my teens and early twenties, including how “consent” was never discussed. You're right, because we weren't supposed to be having sex at all, so why learn about "consent?" “Statutory rape” though was something I was always aware of, since the time I understood what sex was, which I think helped me become aware of when and where lines were being crossed despite being deep in the evangelical subculture since basically birth (pastor's daughter here). Your piece jogged my memory about some flirtation with a much older “Christian” leader 11 years my senior. Pretty sure I was 14 and he was 25 at the time, and I remember being so flattered by his attentions! Fellow “stumbling blocks,” unite!
